Coach Mike is the head Instructor at TBJJA Fort Campbell and has been practicing and competing in Jiu Jitsu since 2010. He has medaled at both of the North American IBJJF 'Majors' (PANS Championship and Master Worlds) and has numerous gold medal performances at local tournaments and IBJJF Qualifiers. He also continues his volunteer work as one of the Combatives Instructors for both 5th Group Special Forces and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Abn) on Fort Campbell.

Coach Mike is a dedicated educator and mentor on and off the mats, having served as the Sr. Instructor/Developer for numerous Special Operations training units in many different high tech fields over the years. He also volunteers with local Autistic children's groups, as his son is on the spectrum.

Coach Mike fell in love with the sport of Jiu Jitsu when it was first introduced to him during his time in the US Army. Coach Mike retired from the 160th SOAR (Abn) after 23 years of service in 2023. He has been happily married to his wife of 26 years (and co-owner) Ms. Christy. Coach Mike and Christy have two children Tyler (25) and Mackenzie (21).
